Refunds
Please take care to note the specific requirements and timelines for all refund applications.

In order to assist us in keeping administrative costs to a minimum, please:
  1. Try to send all receipts/invoices under one Refund Application;
  2. Ensure that the name of the applicant (producer) signing the refund application matches the name on the receipts/invoices.
For example, if you have multiple invoices in your and your spouse’s name, please have both parties complete and sign the Refund Application.  If you have invoices in the name of a business, complete the Refund Application in the name of the business and have the appropriate signing authority of the business sign the Refund Application.

Refund of MCEC Fee
Pursuant to the Cattle Enhancement Fee Regulation Amendment No. 169/2007, effective January 1, 2008:
  • Producers can apply for a refund on receipts that are post-marked or received within one year after the month end in which the fee was deducted.
  • Producers are to accumulate a minimum of $30 in receipts before submitting a refund application.
  • Receipts for less than $30 may be submitted at the end of the calendar year.
  • Refund applications are to be submitted on the prescribed form of refund application and sent to MCEC with receipts confirming payment of the fees;
  • The right to apply for a refund will lapse if not made within the appropriate claim period refund deadline.
